Welcoming Our New Impact Toolbox Board Members: Kyleen Myrah and Abby Aidoo

    A Fresh Chapter in Our Leadership and Impact

    We are thrilled to introduce the two newest additions to our Board of Directors, Kyleen Myrah and Abby Aidoo. Their wealth of experience, dedication, and innovative spirit will undoubtedly drive Impact Toolbox to new heights. 

    Alongside our existing board members, Amanda Shatzko, Rahel Losier, and Bukkie Adewuyi, they will play a pivotal role in shaping our future and next stages of growth, ensuring we stay true to our mission of supporting young leaders in transforming their ideas and passion for social change into successful social enterprises.

    Meet Dr. Kyleen Myrah

    Kyleen is a Professor of Business at Okanagan College, specializing in management and social entrepreneurship since the late 1990s. Her doctoral work at University of British Columbia (UBC) led her to focus on teaching, research, and writing in social entrepreneurship. She has run her own corporate training company for over 20 years, focusing on leadership, social enterprise development, and strategic planning. Passionate about community service, she co-led Kelowna’s Task Force on homelessness. She is a founding member of the interdisciplinary Kelowna Homelessness Research Collaborative, and was the inaugural Chair of the Central Okanagan Journey Home Society. She has also been a Faculty Advisor for the award-winning student organization, Enactus Okanagan College. Kyleen helps to foster connections, confidence, and the capacity for change, through mentorship and serving others.

    I am excited to join an organization whose mandate is to help develop the next generation of changemakers. Using social entrepreneurship to solve wicked problems and develop and grow viable social ventures is a strategy that has great potential. The resources, mentorship, and expertise of the Impact Toolbox team provides a fantastic partner and support to the social entrepreneurship ecosystem. I look forward to being a part of Impact Toolbox and its continued success.

    Meet Abby (Okyere) Aidoo

    Abby is a program lead for the Black Advisory Hub at entrepreneurship@UBC and manages the Mastercard Foundation Program at University of British Columbia (UBC). With a background in management accounting, she has extensive experience in leadership, operations, and business development. Originally from Ghana, Abby played a key role in expanding UBC Sauder Business School’s Social Entrepreneurship Program (LIFT Africa) to train young entrepreneurs in Africa. She is also a director at The Graced Life Leadership Centre and has published works on personal resilience and the student experience of African migrants. Passionate about mentorship and capacity building, Abby has held various leadership roles at Microsoft and is working on promoting data and analytics in Africa through her company, Zerone Analytiqs.


    I am super excited to serve on the board and contribute to driving the vision and strategy of Impact Toolbox! An opportunity that aligns with my core beliefs and passion for supporting young social entrepreneurs.

    Meet the rest of our esteemed Board Members

    Amanda Shatzko, Board Chair

    Amanda is a content creator, visual artist, and prominent community leader in British Columbia, contributing significantly to the Okanagan region through her work in education, sports, healthcare, and the arts. She holds a strong educational background in Fine Arts and communications and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in political science. Recognized for her work in the private sector, Amanda has been acknowledged as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women and has a strong commitment to improving life in British Columbia. She also serves on several boards, including the Regional District of North Okanagan and the Okanagan Regional Library. Her leadership and community support have earned her numerous awards and accolades.

    Bukkie Adewuyi, Board Treasurer

    Bukkie is a charismatic business leader with over 20 years of international experience in strategy, audit, risk, finance, and consulting. Currently, she is the VP of Internal Audit and Risk Advisory at Aritzia, where she focuses on risk management and controls improvement. She previously held roles at Prospera Credit Union, leading teams in finance, business intelligence, and internal audit. Passionate about community impact, Bukkie serves on boards and committees for the Black Opportunity Fund and the Surrey Board of Trade Women in Business, and has been recognized as a YWCA Woman of Distinction and one of Vancouver’s top 50 female leaders.

    Rahel Losier, Board Secretary

    Rahel is a scholar whose academic journey has taken her across Senegal, Romania, France, and Canada. She is currently exploring historical archives in Spain, Cuba and the USA as part of her Ph.D. in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Passionate about amplifying the voices and actions of changemakers, Rahel has previously served as a volunteer coordinator, community advisor, and camp coordinator for a women’s community center. Currently, she works at Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC), helping to conduct research and evaluation on a suicide prevention program.
