The Sustainable Development Challenge is a platform for Okanagan youth to engage in and impact the 17 United Nations’ Global Goals. Youth can bring their voice to the issues they care about through 1 of 2 programs: Project & Pitch or Arts for Social Change. This course module presents instructional training and resources to help teams prepare for the challenge.
Learning objectives
This course provides an instructional and practical learning experience that will help you learn about the following:
The fundamentals of sustainable development and the sustainable development goals
How to craft your pitch and the components of a good pitch deck
How to design your pitch deck using Canva and recommended practices for delivering an excellent presentation.

The lessons provided in this course are recommendations by social change leaders from across the globe. You may need to adapt the knowledge and information provided to your specific context and needs.Â
We do not claim that the recommendations are all you need to succeed at SDC and manage your project. We aim to provide you with the information you may need to help you prepare and develop a competitive proposal and pitch for your project.Â
Course Features
The course includes some video explanations and text guides. The text component of the course is translatable to any language of your choice. You will be awarded a course completion certificate at the end of the course.
