How an Impact Toolbox cohort works

Sometimes, building a social venture can feel like a solitary process. A cohort changes that. Over a focused season of collaborative building, our cohorts combine four integrated delivery pillars:

1

Learning Hub

Self-paced online modules, practical tools, and video lessons with 1-year full access to revisit anytime. Explore it yourself here.

2

Group coaching

Bi-weekly 90-minute group sessions hosted live by specialized coaches.

3

1-on-1 advisory

Dedicated office hours for personalized guidance on the topics and deliverables specific to your program.

4

Community showcase

A celebratory closing gathering presenting validated ventures to funders, allies, and community members.

Special Feature

Reciprocal Student Consultant pairing

Participating initiatives are paired 1-on-1 with a dedicated Student Consultant throughout the 16-week journey. Consultants are post-secondary students or recent graduates from diverse academic fields, offering research and project support tailored to each initiative’s context.

Choose the stream that meets your community where it is

Our cohort offerings reflect the four practice areas of the Impact Journey. Leaders enter at the stage that best matches their current organizational reality.

The incubation program is 16 weeks. We may take breaks to give participants time to to digest learnings and apply their skills in real-time, real-world scenarios. The program can be flexible and adjusted based on the cohort’s needs.

In whatever way feels most doable for busy teams, participants typically invest roughly 6 to 8 hours per week. This includes flexible self-paced learning, community discovery interactions, financial forecasting activities, and attending bi-weekly live coaching sessions.
To foster trust and meaningful exchange, each cohort accepts up to 5 organization teams. Each team may enroll up to 2 key representatives (e.g., Founder & Operations Lead), ensuring an intimate learning community of up to 10 individuals.
Each coaching session is 90-minutes long per group of 5 participants.
Most cohorts follow a virtual model featuring live bi-weekly Zoom sessions paired with self-paced coursework and opening/closing community convenings. We are always open to co-designing hybrid models that integrate local in-person gatherings.
Business support organizations, municipalities, and funders are invited to schedule a co-creation call with our team. We provide the curriculum, LMS setup, facilitation, and coaching, while customizing content to reflect your local identity and regional needs.
