“When we believe in young social impact leaders early, we help to shape their journey, but most importantly, we shape the future they’re building for all of us.”
Bukkie Adewuyi, Impact Toolbox Donor
Before a young changemaker creates an initiative that changes lives, they need someone to believe their idea is worth building.
This belief is at the heart of Impact Toolbox’s new donations campaign.
At Impact Toolbox, we’ve had the privilege of seeing what can happen when young people are given the tools, support, and encouragement to bring their ideas to life.
In Cranbrook, BC, a group of neurodivergent students noticed that many youth like them were moving through school without the tools, language, or support they needed to feel understood.
So they built something.
They created Buttons & Beyond, designing and selling handmade buttons to fund sensory kits and educational resources for neurodivergent youth in their community.
In Golden, BC, another group of youth saw a different challenge. Affordable, youth-friendly thrift options were limited, while clothing waste continued to grow. Through Thrift’n Flips, they began building a youth-led thrift and upcycling venture that combined sustainability, creativity, and community learning.
In Kimberley, BC, students imagined a welcoming cafe where young people could gather, connect, and access affordable food. Lee’s Cafe opened its doors after the youth completed market research, developed a business plan, and transformed their idea into a real community space.
We’ve also seen youth launch biodiversity initiatives, anti-stigma campaigns, and other projects rooted in the needs they notice around them.
These stories may look different, but they all began the same way.
A young person noticed something that mattered, and someone helped them believe they could do something about it.
When young people take their first real steps into social entrepreneurship, they explore ideas, solve problems they care about, design projects that respond to real needs in their community, and discover that they can lead change now, not only later. They come away with practical problem-solving and leadership skills, a project they built themselves, and a new belief in what they can do.
TODAY, Impact Toolbox is launching a new donations campaign to help more young people access those opportunities.
When you donate, you are helping mentors, educators, and youth leaders support the next generation of young changemakers who care deeply about their communities and are ready to bring transformational initiatives to life.
Not only do youth create solutions that support people in their communities, they also build the confidence, skills, and experience to lead those solutions into the future.
In many ways, we’re not just supporting projects. We’re investing in young people as leaders today and tomorrow.
Donate today and help give more youth a place to start.
