Impact Toolbox is excited to collaborate with Children First Canada (CFC) in supporting the Being, Belonging, Becoming (BBB) program, a forward-thinking youth leadership initiative aimed at enhancing mental health, fostering resilience, and empowering youth aged 12-18 to tackle complex social issues like bullying, racism, and climate change.
Children First Canada is a national charity devoted exclusively to protecting children’s rights in Canada. They strive to ensure that children grow up without obstacles that hinder them from realizing their full potential, beginning with safeguarding their fundamental rights to childhood. The BBB program embodies this mission by equipping underserved youth with the tools, capacity, and confidence to drive change in their communities.
Last year, Impact Toolbox significantly contributed to the pilot of the BBB program by creating an online course available on our digital learning platform. Our team revamped CFC’s curriculum into an engaging and accessible format that features short videos, interactive lessons, and activities organized into 10 ready-made, customizable lesson plans that align seamlessly with the civic education curriculum.
I think it’s a fantastic resource. I love how short the videos are—they’re quick, short and student-driven.

I am thrilled with our collaboration with Impact Toolbox to support the development of the Being, Belonging, Becoming program. They played a critical role in helping us develop an innovative online course, making the program more accessible and engaging for both educators and youth. What truly stands out is their commitment to creating user-friendly, interactive tools that directly enhance our curriculum.

Designed for youth educators who extend learning beyond the classroom, the program enables students to actively understand and address critical issues affecting their communities through project-based learning. The course covers topics such as finding your voice, children’s rights, major issues affecting youth, government engagement, activism, problem identification, solution design, and project implementation.
Working with Impact Toolbox has been fantastic. You’ve truly listened to our feedback and the input from students. You adapted and accommodated at every step of the way.

The pilot program engaged over 500 youth in Ottawa, leading to positive mental health outcomes and setting the stage for expansion into classrooms and communities across Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. CFC reports that BBB has reached 3,300 youth, far exceeding the 2023/2024 target of 1,590 participants.
This partnership has not only elevated the learning experience for students but has also had a measurable positive impact as we scale up the program in communities across Canada. I am deeply grateful for Impact Toolbox’s support and look forward to continuing our work together to educate, inspire and empower youth.

What’s always grounded my work is a simple but powerful belief: young people have something important to say, and they deserve the chance to be heard—whether in their classrooms, their school clubs, or their communities. I’ve seen firsthand how student voice can spark change, build confidence, and create a real sense of belonging.

As of December 2024, almost 80 educators and community leaders have signed up to implement the BBB curriculum in their classrooms and communities, further amplifying the program’s growing reach and impact.
