About the fellowship

The global citizenship fellowship is an international intrapreneurship and peer collaboration program that connects University students to peer collaborators and social businesses overseas. It provides students with outstanding opportunities for cultural exchanges, international research collaborations and work experiences.  Become a fellow to enjoy the following benefits:

Program Structure

  • Applications are open throughout the Fall semester. 
  • Successful applicants will be confirmed and matched with peer collaborators or organizations at the end of the Fall semester.
  • Fellows must attend a virtual orientation at the beginning of the Winter semester and three subsequent group check-in calls to report progress and facilitate cultural exchange and relationship building. 
  • Students will be paired in teams to work remotely in any of the tracks below. Regardless of track, intrapreneurship or research projects must contribute towards addressing a social/economic/environmental issue and must align with at least one Sustainable Development Goal (SDG).
  • Completed projects will be delivered as presentations and written reports at the end of the program during a closing program attended by host organizations, peers and institutional representatives.
  • Fellows will be recognized and presented with their Global Citizenship Award certificates. 

Fellowship Tracks

Who we are looking for

  • Students enrolled in a partner college or university with a strong passion for global change and entrepreneurship.
  • Students who have expressed interest in global learning. Students registered in the global studies, participating in international service learning, or actively seeking global connections
  • Students who are members of entrepreneurship, social change, or global development clubs on campus
  • Students interested in entrepreneurship – Students enrolled in a social entrepreneurship course or connected to their school’s centre for entrepreneurship.
  • Students should be passionate about global social change and willing to connect with others from other parts of the world to pursue the social change they want to see
  • Students who have founded a social venture (Profit or Not-for-profit) or have an excellent idea for creating one.
