The course is designed for both intending and practicing social entrepreneurs and non-profit executives. It is focused on developing effective grant writing skills essential to the acquisition of competitive funding from government agencies and private foundations. Writing a successful grant proposal is not a superpower and consists of amenable skills to scientific research and experiential learning. It requires basic know-how, subject knowledge, writing proficiency, basic research skills, creativity, organizational ability, patience, and, sadly, luck. Fortunately, you would have created a full grant proposal ready for submission by the end of this instructional course.
This course consists of 8 modules made up of 11 videos, 4 readings, and 8 assignments. The recorded class videos are very explanatory and provide answers to class questions; some of the types you may have would most likely be asked and answered in the videos. It takes about 5 weeks to complete the course. The course is facilitated by Professor Jesse Lutabingwa (Associate Vice Chancellor, Office of International Education and Development, Appalachian State University, Boone, North Carolina, U.S.A)

What stood out for me was how actually easy to comprehend the teachings were. Hands-on assignments with timelines. The practical lectures and how I could use them in my daily living. I learnt how to really think deeply and realistically about events around me. It also helped me think of a project with the end in mind and its resultant effect on the desired audience. – Anita Ike.
The experience has been awesome; I got to learn so much. Now I feel I can apply for any grant by just going through the notes and key points. I also decided to edit all the current proposals for the grant I am working on. What has been most striking for me is how the modules were well related and easy to understand. I really wished the classroom session will continue. – Lola Ogunnubi.
